We met randomly at the roadside in New South Wales Australia. We were both hitch-hiking. Our need to get to Ballarat brought us together and we became travel friends, swapping addresses when our travels went in different directions. Verity was younger than me and a beautiful red headed lassie.

Verity drove north to visit me as she wanted to visit The Isle of Skye. I was living alone in a big old rented house at the time. It never occurred to me we might have sex. Anything else you want to add about this hookup? It was the most amazing unexpected experience. I was just a little worried at the time about pregnancy as I was in no good financial state, or emotionally ready, to be a father. I do not think Verity intended (at the time)
to become pregnant either, though some years later she had a daughter, who was planned. (A few weeks later she wrote saying she had had her period…)
